Types of Massage

Relaxation Massage
As the name suggests, relaxation massage can sooth body and mind. Stress can have a major effect on your life, and massage will relax tense muscles and give your busy brain some time out! We have a range of massage balms infused with essential oils that are designed to help you unwind.
Sports Massage
Sports massage was originally developed to help athletes prepare their bodies for optimal performance, recover after a big event, or function well during training however you don’t have to be an elite athlete to enjoy the benefits of a sports massage. Sports massage is also good for people with injuries, chronic pain or restricted range of motion. A sports massage is a good choice if you have a specific problem -- a tender knee from running, for instance.
Neuromuscular Therapy
Neuromuscular Therapy (NMT) is a very specialized form of massage therapy. It involves the physiology of the nervous system and its effect on the muscular and skeletal systems. NMT usually includes trigger point treatment. Trigger points are highly irritable points in the muscle that can refer pain to another part of the body. NMT also looks at postural imbalances that can lead to the underdevelopment of the supporting muscles and thereby lead to their weakening. So in plain English, NMT can help treat for example, someone who spends all day sitting at a computer can form trigger points in the neck and shoulder muscles, which can in turn refer pain to the head and arms. NMT can relieve your headaches!!
Pregnancy Massage
Pregnancy massage is massage therapy specifically tailored for the expectant mother's needs. The mother's body must be properly positioned and supported during the massage, using pillows and padding. Proper positioning ensures comfort and safety for the mother and baby. Here at Mint, we have a table specially designed for pregnancy. The table has a removable “plug” that accommodates the belly so expectant mothers can at last lie on their stomach!
